A question I have been pondering and asking of  myself  lately.  It is easier for me to understand why other people don’t make decisions, for example in business, or changing their investments, or why they won’t start  a new project, typically boils down to fear, time, energy, or is the outcome really going to benefit them in the long run?  With clients and others it is easy for me to see, then it only makes sense that the statements above also apply to me.

So, for a personal introspection I asked myself,  “Why am I not taking action”?

In reading through my daily devotions (I use a version of Jesus Calling) there was a statement in there that hit me between the eyes….”When you focus on what you don’t have or on situations that displease you, your mind also becomes darkened.  You take for granted life, salvation, sunshine, flowers, and countless other gifts from Me.  You look for what is wrong and refuse to enjoy life until that is “fixed“….

It became very clear, what we think about comes true.  It was a smack in the face from all the old books, seminars, tapes and lectures I have heard over the years, What you think about comes true!  Investing too much energy on negative thoughts and actions paralyzes you to move towards what you want to achieve.  Paralyzes you from what you want and what you are called to do.  The good news is that it is easy to fix.

I started this week focusing back on areas in my life which I have great thanks.  Taking the time in the morning to read positive books, and the Ultimate positive book.  Mental visioning on where I am going and what I want, and not I what is going wrong.  Stepping out in Faith and start to take action toward fulfilling goals, bringing back the good habits of quiet time, mental envisioning and positive mantras.

It is in taking the small steps over time that we overcome fear, build momentum, feel success, and create a great life.  Every so often we need to be reminded that we all have the gifts and talents for greatness, we just need to believe, envision, and start!
